Self-hosting MiniMax H3
H3-Base is a 33B-parameter open-weights model. A 4× H200 node renders a 5-second 768p clip in about 75 seconds at 50 steps; the 8-step Turbo LoRA is roughly 5× faster with softer output. Rented nodes are billed per GPU-hour.

Self-host assumptions
Timings come from single-request SGLang benchmarks at 1344×768, 124 frames, 50 steps. Real throughput depends on batching and concurrency; treat all self-host numbers as estimates. 480p uses the same 768p timings (no speed-up assumed).

What hardware do I need?
MiniMax's reference deployment is 8× B200. Documented alternatives include 4× H200, 4× H100 and 2× RTX 5090 with layerwise offload.
Can I generate 2K when self-hosting?
Not yet. The open release produces 768p; the 2K regenerate stage is API-only.
When is self-hosting cheaper?
Only when a node is kept busy. Use the calculator: with dedicated billing the break-even is the volume where one node's daily rent equals the hosted per-clip price times clips per day.
